Display

Important

The display functionality only works while using Roon.

If an official Raspberry Pi Touchscreen (generation 1 or 2) is attached via DSI to your Raspberry Pi, Verox shows a Display tab where you can configure the touchscreen.

Important

On the Raspberry Pi 5 you must use the DSI connector labelled DISP0.

Settings

  • Orientation — corrects the touchscreen orientation if it’s currently upside down.
  • Roon Default Zone — the Roon zone the display should show by default. Type it exactly as it appears in Roon. You can also change the zone directly from the touchscreen.
  • Scroll Titles — enable scrolling for long titles.
  • Hide Options — hide the on-screen option buttons.
  • Blurred Background — show a blurred background based on the cover art.
  • Screensaver Timeout — minutes of idling before the screen shows the clock, or blanks.
  • Show Clock — show a clock while idling instead of blanking the screen.
    • Clock Color — Grey, Green, Blue, or Custom. Only shown when Show Clock is on.
    • Custom Color — a custom clock color in hex, when Clock Color is set to Custom.
    • 24-Hour Clock — show the time in 24-hour format. Only shown when Show Clock is on.
  • Touchscreen Type — Off, Auto-Detect, or a specific Raspberry Pi Display model. Auto-Detect works for most setups.

Tip

You can change the active Roon zone dynamically on the touchscreen by pressing the zone label and selecting from the dropdown.

Tip

Press the cover art area on the screen to toggle between player, clock, and off states.

Tip

Press the bottom-right corner of the screen to adjust brightness.

Tip

The display can show content from any Roon zone, not just the zone playing through the Raspberry Pi the display is attached to.

Important

To show content from Roon, you must activate the Verox Roon Extension in Roon settings.
