Advanced settings

The Advanced tab contains optional settings that are not required for basic use.

Update channel

The Update Channel defines which release type the unit uses. Leave this set to STABLE unless you have explicitly chosen to participate in the BETA programme. Beta discussion happens in the Verox community forum.

Auto update and reboot schedule

Enable Auto Update to install updates automatically without manual intervention. This only works when Reboot Schedule is set to something other than Never.

  • Reboot Schedule — Daily, Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly, or Never. Verox reboots on this schedule to apply any downloaded update.
  • Reboot Time — the time of day the scheduled reboot happens.

Web authentication

With Web Authentication you can restrict access to Verox’s web interface by requiring a password. Useful on shared networks. Once enabled, set a Web Password — you’ll need it (with username admin) to access the web interface afterward.

LEDs

LEDs Function controls how the status LEDs behave: Green LED On, Both LEDs Off, or Blink Green LED on Update.

Note

On the Raspberry Pi 5, the power LED is disabled entirely regardless of this setting.

Wake-on-LAN

Enable Send Wake-on-LAN (WoL) to have Verox send a WoL magic packet during boot, targeting the WoL Target MAC Address you provide. Useful for waking a NAS or media server that Verox depends on.

Alarm clock

Enable Alarm Clock to install TheAppgineer’s Alarm Clock Extension, which makes it possible to set an alarm for a Roon zone.

Touchscreen type

Verox auto-detects an attached touchscreen display by default. If detection doesn’t work correctly, use Touchscreen Type here to force the specific model instead of relying on Auto-Detect.

Feedback and diagnostics

  • Send Feedback — creates a log archive and sends it to the Verox team. Use it when reporting an issue; it gives the team the debug information needed to analyse the problem.
  • Reboot / Shutdown — restart or power down the unit.
  • Reinstall Roon Bridge — reinstalls RoonBridge from scratch. Requires a reboot. Use this if RoonBridge itself seems broken (not showing up in Roon, failing to start, etc.).
